WhatsApp introduced new options, screen share and landscape mode features during video calls

WhatsApp has come up with new features to give better performance to users. Recently the popular instant messaging platform owned by Meta has publicly announced two new features – screen share and landscape mode – for its video calling option. The company's CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed the matter through Instagram and Facebook posts. In this case, this new move of WhatsApp and the launch of the pair of features seems to be aimed at competing with various video conferencing apps in the market (such as Google, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Apple FaceTime).

Now these two functions will be available while making video calls on WhatsApp

The first feature I will talk about is the screen share option. Yes, like the Google Meet platform, WhatsApp will now allow its users to share documents, photos and videos in real-time by directly representing their screen with contacts during video calls. By doing this, live view sharing will be possible for any need. Note, this screen share feature is not brand new, it was made available to WhatsApp beta testers a few weeks ago. But this time (read very soon) it will reach all users of iPhone, Android smartphone and Windows platform.

How to share screen on WhatsApp?

The screen sharing feature on WhatsApp can be accessed by tapping or clicking on the 'Share' icon provided on the screen while making a video call. In this case, users can choose between sharing specific app information or sharing the entire screen.

Advantage of landscape mode

As mentioned earlier, WhatsApp has also announced landscape mode for video calling. As a result, users will now be able to make video calls in landscape mode by rotating the screen, making their screen view wider and deeper (ie clearer).
